Discipleship Pathway at Hyde Park
Hyde Park United Methodist is intentional about helping people become and grow as disciples of Christ. Our Discipleship Pathway is a framework that lays out how we believe this happens.

Exploring
- Serve somewhere. Look through website pages on serving, and the weekly eHydePark newsletter for opportunities and try something out.
Getting Started
- Take the Spiritual Gifts Assessment to learn how God has prepared you to serve. Then find a place to serve based on where you are gifted.
- Talk with a Connector — a member who serves by helping others find their place to serve, learn and grow at Hyde Park. Contact Justin LaRosa, director of discipleship ministries for more information.
Going Deeper
- Help to organize a one-time local mission project for your small group, serving at a local mission agency.
- Go on a mission trip — we have adult teams traveling to Cuba, Nicaragua, and South Africa each year. High school youth have traveled to Nicaragua also; middle school youth travel within the United States on mission trips.
- Commit to serving based on where you are gifted on a regular, ongoing basis.
Centering on Christ
- Live out the call to be a servant in your daily life, as Jesus taught, giving generously of yourself to help others always
- Continue to serve based on where you are gifted, while always listening prayerfully and responding to God's call to you to serve in new ways.
