Night of Joy 2011

Night of Joy is taking place this year before the Back-to-School-Bash, so here is the information you need if you're planning on attending. This year, all the festivities will be held in the Magic Kingdom. Here's all the info:

Saturday, Sept. 11

2 p.m.: Depart Hyde Park from the Magnolia Building via charter bus
4 p.m. to 1 a.m.: Enjoy Night of Joy
2 a.m. Return to Hyde Park (Note: No Lock-In; Youth will need to be picked up upon return)

Tickets are $75 and include:

  • your ticket to Night of Joy

  • your seat on the charter bus

  • one meal at the Magic Kingdom (counter service meal of entrée, side, drink, dessert)

  • your T-shirt

(*Tickets, meal coupons and T-shirts will be distributed at departure)

We have spots for 50 youth on a first-come, first-served basis. To secure your spot, return your completed permission slip with payment to Robin McMillan in the Ministry Offices.

This is one of our most popular trips of the year, so sign up soon if you want to go! If you’ve never gone to Night of Joy or Rock the Universe with us here is how it works:

  • All youth attending will be provided with a ‘carry card’ that lists the cell phone numbers of all adult chaperones.

  • The ‘carry card’ also has a map of the park and indicates where the check-in spot will be.

  • Middle School students travel in small groups with an adult chaperone.

  • High School students are allowed to travel in small groups by themselves.

  • Everyone checks in with the designated leader at a predesignated spot three times during the evening. If a High School student doesn’t check-in, they will be assigned to an adult-supervised group.

Parents, if you are interested in being an adult chaperone, please contact rmcmillan(at)hydeparkumc.org.
