Making God's Love Real
Hyde Park United Methodist is a community of people committed to Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, united in the love of God, and called to make that love real to others.
We accomplish this mission by becoming people who
• INVITE people to experience the love of God and become disciples of Jesus Christ.
• EQUIP disciples to be agents of God's reconciling love in the world.
• CARE for one another in Christian community.
• SEND disciples as servants of Christ to participate in God's transformation of the world.

Prayer Ministries
Just as a shepherd cares for his flock, many members of Hyde Park are deeply involved in caring for others both within the church, and from a community outreach perspective. If you believe you have the Spiritual Gift of Caring for others, you are invited to sample the many initiatives under way that help to Make God's Love Real in our church.
Intercessory Prayer Team
This team of volunteers meets during the week to pray for members, their families, friends and others who need intercessory prayer to help them through difficult times.
Healing Prayer Team
Our Healing Prayer Team meets the first Sunday of the month in the Chapel following each worship service to listen and pray with people in need of spiritual, emotional and physical healing.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Knitters in our congregation Make God’s Love Real by providing the gift of prayer symbolized by a hand-knit shawl, while sharing in a special Christian community of knitters.
Bear Ministry
The smartly dressed teddy bears that sit in the pews of our sanctuary and chapel are lovingly dressed by volunteer seamstresses, so that members and guests may take a bear to someone in need of healing or a spiritual lift. More than 800 bears from our pews have Made God's Love Real this way.
