Emily Felgenhauer

Full name: Emily Maria Felgenhauer
But Please Call Me: Emily
Position: Director of Youth Ministry
Born where and when: Joliet, Illinois — April 3

Family Facts:  My parents live in Chicago, while my three older brothers reside in the Daytona Beach area. I'm the proud aunt of two boys, Jacob and Ryan, and I have a chocolate Lab, Bear, who means the world to me.

Education: I graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, IL in 2007 with a communications degree. I also attended Youth Ministry Institute in Orlando and graduated in April 2010.

How I became a Christian: I was born and raised a Methodist and attended youth group throughout middle and high school. In Jan. 2000, as a freshman in high school, I went on a retreat called Chrysalis that changed my life. From that point on, my entire life and perspective changed. I understood what a "relationship with Jesus" really meant. It took a lot of love and prayer from my parents and volunteers in the youth program who believed in and nurtured me in my relationship with my heavenly Father.

How I ended up at Hyde Park: I heard from the Executive Director of Youth Ministry Institute there was an opening at Hyde Park and I jumped at the chance to be in the running!

The most important thing I do around here is: Spending time with the youth, listening and learning about them, helping them to see Christ through us.

My vision for the future of Hyde Park Church is: to continue to build an open, Spirit-engaging environment full of the love of Jesus.

One way folks can pray for me is: To continue to feel the Spirit move me as a leader and make sure we are on the path where Jesus is calling the Youth Ministry of Hyde Park!
